More About This Project

Need: Materialogic asked us to visualize what their van interior would look like to give customers a clear idea of what to expect.

Solution: We designed and rendered a series of images that exemplified a calm and restorative environment in which van dwellers could kick back and relax. We also highlighted the use of 3D printed components.

Materials: 3D Printing Bio-Composite (PLA), Aluminum Extrusions, Plywood Bamboo, Forbo Marmoleum

Industrial Design: This van interior has a functional 3 in 1 layout for different needs including living a healthy life, working on the road, or being out in nature. There is an option to slide the kitchen galley to the front, middle or back depending on lifestyle. This van interior is completely removable so that it may be recycled, repaired, or reused.

Innovative manufacturing techniques, specifically 3D printing bio composites, have been designed in place of the more commonly used plastics. 3D printing with natural materials has the potential to be an ecological and responsible solution at lower cost. Not only is this more sustainable, but it also allows for graceful organic shapes as opposed to hard angular surfaces. Here, the storage units are printed and are design to open like airline compartments.
