• Joep Cuppens

    MANUFACTURING

    A native of the Netherlands, Joep uses his skills in CAD/CAM systems such as SolidWorks, Catia, and OnShape and specializes in manufacturing solutions for the built environment. Joep also has extensive experience in vacuum press and thermoforming technology and 3D printing and prototyping.

    With training in Europe as a Master Cabinetmaker combined with high tech work experience in the aviation industry, Joep’s skillset goes broad and deep. His strength in automation, interest in analogue to digital processes, and ability in MRP and ERP systems describe his consultancy practice.

    After immigrating to the US, Joep spent a decade fabricating high-end residential and commercial interiors in New York and New Jersey. Later, he spent 20 years in interior completions for private and corporate aircraft where he introduced CNC and other technology to automate manufacturing processes.

  • Max Cuppens

    DESIGN

    Max uses design as a catalyst for positive change. Most recently, he co-founded a circular design startup in Berlin and works at mifactory, a design studio focused on the built environment. Max studied Product Design at Art Center College of Design and is deeply committed to sustainability and materials research and development. Max is involved in all aspects of the design practice from brainstorming to building. He guides clients through design sprints, creates concept renderings, and rolls his sleeves up in the build shop. Max is a blue sky thinker and challenges the way we think and work.
